cloudrecordings Erik Satie/Harold Budd sounding gentle, relaxing ambient piano pieces. i was turned onto Robert Haigh by my friend (Pell Mell/Cut-Out member) Robert Beerman, and thank him so much because i listen to the many releases i've collected by Haigh daily!

dharmalogos I randomly discovered Robert Haigh's music on Bandcamp several months ago and quickly bought all three of his albums. I was drawn to his first album because it reminded me of the piano music of Erik Satie. The second album was more varied. This third album feels both more intimate and more cinematic. Haigh is an outstanding composer who creates tonal worlds and an excellent performer who makes us feel like we live there.

Jonathan Pryor This album quickly grew on me. The first few tracks didn't draw me in but as with many things in life, given patience and an open ear therein lies appreciation.

Anthony Childs Vignettes for deep listening with surprises! Hopefully Robert will keep us posted on his future creations both in art and any music productions (see article in Bandcamp Daily). I really applaud UW for releasing this trilogy on vinyl and CD and I strongly urge everyone to support his prior digital only releases as well as these. Favorite track: Signs of Life.

Human Remains follows Creatures of the Deep and Black Sarabande as the final installment of a trilogy of piano based recordings by Robert Haigh for Unseen Worlds. The trilogy marks the end of the late era of solo albums by Haigh before he steps away from music production.

The title, Human Remains, was initially based on a painting of the same name by Haigh that is suggestive of an ancient structure resolute in the wake of overwhelming forces. As a metaphor for our current times, it could be interpreted as human frailty in the face of nature’s unyielding dominion. Conversely, it could represent the persistence of human spirit and resourcefulness in the midst of catastrophe and upheaval.

Robert Haigh is a British electronic, ambient and experimental musician. Born in Yorkshire, he moved to London in the late 70s to study art. There he produced ambient and industrial music under the name Sema and worked with Nurse with Wound. In the 90s he became known for a unique style of ambient drum and bass under the name Omni Trio.
